PIERRE, S.D. (AP) – South Dakota anticipates about $110 million in revenue from video, instant and online lottery games for the current budget year.
South Dakota Lottery Sales Director Joe Willingham told lottery commissioners on Thursday that the state expects an uptick over fiscal 2014, when lottery revenues totaled $106.3 million.
Video lottery is expected to drive state revenues for the 2015 budget year, with $97.32 million coming from video games. That’s compared with a combined $12.56 million in revenue from instant and online games.
Total machine income for video lottery terminals is expected to be $196.6 million for the same period. That’s a bump from lows in 2012, but shy of a 2008 peak of $224.7 million.
South Dakota Lottery Commission Chairman Chuck Turbiville says any time revenues are up it’s good news.
