Sportradar continues to add to its portfolio of gaming interests.
Tuesday the Swiss-based provider of sports data intelligence and sport entertainment solutions announced the acquisition of InteractSport, a Melbourne, Australia sports data and technology company that partners with cricket boards such as Cricket Australia and the England & Wales Cricket Board.
“With cricket being one of the most popular sports in the world, we see this as a growth opportunity for the company, especially given the significance of the sport in the Asian region,” said Sportradar Group CEO Carsten Koerl in a statement.
In March, Sportradar acquired Fresh Eight, the operator of a personalized messaging platform that serves the global betting and gaming marketplace. Also in March, the Swiss company entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Synergy Sport, which analyzes, distributes, and commercializes sports content.
In April, Sportradar struck an agreement with TwinSpires, the online sports betting arm of Churchill Downs to provide pre-game betting services, live betting services, and content across a range of U.S. sports.
The combination of Sportradar’s distribution framework with InteractSport’s products is expected to create significant growth within regional and global markets for its customers.
InteractSport CEO Sam Taylor said in a statement that “aligning with Sportradar” will help his company scale its operation “to develop exciting new products, reach new markets and deliver even greater benefit to our current and future customers.”
The deal is expected to close in the 2nd quarter of 2021, pending regulatory approvals.
