Deadwood casinos generated $14.6 million in revenue in October, up 7.6% from the $13.5 million generated a year ago.
According to the latest report from the South Dakota Department of Revenue, which reports revenue by game type rather than by casino, seven game types saw an increase in revenue, while the remaining seven experienced a decline.
One-cent slots generated the highest revenue in October, with $11.4 million in revenue reported, up 10.5% year-over-year from $10.3 million. Ten-cent slots saw the highest year-over-year increase, rising by 323.8% from $2,365 to $10,021.
The popularity of $25 and $5 slots declined, with $25 slots experiencing an 80% year-over-year revenue decline, from $44,900 to $9,000, and $5 slots falling 72.5% from $223,087 to $61,268.
Table games saw better results. Blackjack revenue was up 39% from $465,746 to $647,371. House-banked poker was up 25.6%, from $448,823 to $563,738, while traditional poker declined 0.8% from $88,074 to $87,326.
Roulette was the only table game to report a loss, falling 27.4%, from $46,192 to $33,541.
Citywide, slot revenue reached $13.1 million, a 5.9% year-over-year increase from $12.4 million, and table games revenue rose 26.2% from $1.1 million to $1.4 million.
