Seneca Gaming Corporation in Niagara Falls, New York, on Thursday announced that Kimberlee Dunlop has been named Chief Operating Officer.

An enrolled member of the Seneca Nation, and an attorney and longtime executive, Dunlop has decades of experience in Native American business and policy matters.

“Kim is an exceptionally talented and driven professional who knows our properties and operations inside and out,” Seneca Gaming Corporation President and CEO Kevin Nephew said in a statement. “Her insight, leadership and contributions have been invaluable to our performance and success over the past five years. We are thrilled that she will now take on this important role with the corporation as we chart a course for our continued growth and success in a continuously evolving gaming industry.”

Dunlop will serve in a key role on Seneca Gaming’s senior management team, focusing on the development and implementation of the company’s overall strategic plan. She will lead initiatives and work directly with property general managers to help maintain optimal business efficiency, and drive revenue, profitability, and growth at the company’s three properties – Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino in Niagara Falls, New York; Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino in Salamanca, New York; and Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino in Buffalo, New York.

Dunlop served as counsel to the Seneca Gaming Corporation Board of Directors for the past five years, acting as an advisor to the board and senior management team on matters affecting the company’s operations, advising the board on corporate governance matters, leading the board in the development of long-term and short-term strategic plans, and ensuring that strategic and organizational goals were set, tracked, and delivered.

She has more than 20 years’ experience assisting Native Nations with the exercise of their sovereignty, including extensive experience with tribal gaming laws, regulations and governing bodies. Dunlop served as a member of the Seneca Gaming Corporation board from 2013-2016, including roles as corporate secretary and a member of the audit committee. Prior to her most recent role with Seneca Gaming Corporation, Dunlop practiced federal Indian law and public policy in Washington, D.C. and Buffalo for almost two decades.

“I am honored and humbled by the responsibility and opportunity being entrusted to me by Seneca Gaming Corporation’s leadership and the Board of Directors,” Dunlop said. “Having seen and been a part of the organization in various capacities over the last several years, I know how exceptional our properties and operations are, and how dynamic the challenges of our industry can be. I look forward to working closely with Kevin and my colleagues throughout the company to ensure Seneca Gaming Corporation is best positioned to continue making an important impact for our guests, our more than 3,000 team members, our region in Western New York, and, notably, for the Seneca Nation and our people.”
