Scientific Games Corp. extended its license agreement with Hasbro, Inc. through 2025, allowing the gaming equipment manufacturer to continue using Monopoly and 15 game brands as themes for the company’s gambling devices.
The agreement allows Las Vegas-based Scientific Games to utilize the Hasbro brands on slots, systems, online digital gaming, lottery, social casino, eTables and expands the usage rights to include table games.
In addition to Monopoly, the Hasbro Games include Game of Life, Battleship, Clue, Ouija and Yahtzee globally, and Scrabble in the U.S. and Canada.
Scientific Games CEO Barry Cottle said the company and Hasbro have worked collaboratively since 1998 in the use of Monopoly “as a pillar for innovation.” Cottle said the game has become one of the casino industry’s top brands.
“This new agreement signifies the strength of a great collaboration and celebrates the global endearment of the Monopoly brand as a leading slot brand and the top selling licensed brand for lottery tickets,” Cottle said.
According to Scientific Games, Monopoly slot games are found in hundreds of casinos and players can access the through the SG Social app. Monopoly Slots, which is found on the app, has more than 2.2 million players who have played more than 750 million minutes, or 6 billion spins, the company said.
