Scientific Games and Betfred will partner in providing the platform and technology for sports betting at Wind Creek Casino in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
In a statement Wednesday, Las Vegas-based Scientific Games and the U.S. subsidiary of the United Kingdom-based Betfred Group are partnering to provide the technology for both full retail and online/mobile sports betting.
The retail sportsbook at Wind Creek Casino is expected to launch in the first half of 2020. The online and mobile component will go live in advance of the NFL season, which kicks off in August.
Scientific Games currently sports betting technology to 35 customers in 16 countries.
The casino will utilize the company’s OpenSports technology, which includes online and mobile betting technology and services. Betfred, through its Wind Creek partnership, will provide Scientific Games’ over the counter betting solutions and retail betting kiosks. Scientific Games utilizes the Don Best Sports data feeds, which are part of the company’s OpenTrade branch of the OpenSports product line.
“Scientific Games was the clear choice to provide our sports betting platform in Pennsylvania,” said Betfred Group COO Mark Stebbings, adding the products “will help us reach more players and grow our sportsbook presence at speed.”
Scientific Games Senior Vice President Keith O’Loughlin called Betfred “one of the UK’s top-performing bookmakers, and their move into the U.S. will spark growth.”
O’Loughlin said Scientific Games and Betfred “can make a massive impact in the sports betting arena by driving player engagement and putting their digital and retail sportsbooks at the forefront of this expanding landscape.”
