The recent SBC Summit North America the Meadowlands Exposition Center in New Jersey is being touted by organizers as the most successful of its kind since the event was launched in 2019.
“Last year, we decided to invest in our US-based team to make sure we continue to deliver the best exhibition, conference, and networking experience to the most exciting sports betting and iGaming market on the planet,” said SBC Founder and CEO Rasmus Sojmark in a statement. “I am delighted that this approach has paid dividends this year with the biggest and most popular SBC Summit North America ever, and I want to thank all our friends and partners for their support.”
With more than 250 speakers and 50 exhibitors and a 20% increase in attendance over 2021, the July 12-14 Summit featured appearances by noted gambler Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale, FanDuel CEO Amy Howe, BetMGM CEO Matt Prevost, Sportradar Chairman of the Board Jeff Yabuki, and Richard Schwartz, Rush Street Interactive CEO.
The first day featured the Player Protection Symposium at the Midtown Loft and Terrace in Manhattan, which ran concurrently with the iGaming and Sports Betting 101 presentation at the same venue.
In addition to conference sessions and networking opportunities, this year’s event featured SBC First Pitch America, a competition that featured five companies vying for prizes worth $60,000, including an investment of $25,000 by HappyHour.io. BetSwap Limited was named the winner.
Featured networking events included the Tribal Gaming Networking Brunch, the African Americans in Gaming Networking Event and the ‘Global Gaming Women Networking Breakfast.
Also, the SBC Awards North America were held at Pier Sixty in Manhattan and attended by 600 guests.
Next year’s event is scheduled to return to the Meadowlands Exposition Center May 9-11.
“We plan on putting on something even bigger next year,” Sojmark said. “It will be unmissable.”
