Last week’s SBC Summit North America again set an attendance record.
Featuring 300 speakers and 60 exhibitors, the gathering of igaming and sports betting operators drew 3,000 attendees May 9-11 to the Meadowlands Exposition Center in New Jersey.
“The atmosphere at the Summit was absolutely electric,” said SBC CEO & Founder Rasmus Sojmark in a statement. “The spirit of collaboration was embraced wholeheartedly, with people exchanging ideas left and right! This wasn’t just our biggest event in North America; it was also our most engaging ever. What really excited me was seeing so many new faces this time around. It’s clear that the Summit is growing, attracting fresh perspectives and voices.”
The first day of the Summit was devoted to the Player Protection Symposium at the Altman Building in the Chelsea neighborhood New York City, with 300 guests focused on discussions about protection, compliance, and leadership.
Wednesday and Thursday’s sessions spanned five spheres of gaming: Leaders/Converging Worlds, Sports Betting Products/Sports, Teams, & Media; Igaming Americas/Igaming Products; Marketing & Affiliates/Fintech & Payments; and Emerging Tech/New Markets. Speakers included Fanatics Betting and Gaming CEO Matt King; security expert Frank Abagnale of Catch Me if You Can fame; Entain Chairman Barry Gibson; Bill Miller, president and CEO of the American Gaming Association; Rush Street Interactive CEO Richard Schwartz; and Jan Jones Blackhurst, Caesars Entertainment board member.
“The quality of our conference sessions was off the charts,” Sojmark said. “We took things up a notch by expanding to a lower floor to accommodate even more top speakers and discussion topics. The conference rooms were packed with not only insightful panels but also individuals ready to absorb this information and drive the industry forward.”
Other highlights included a networking event at Slate NYC, the SBC First Pitch North America contest (Scrimmage won the prize package worth $55,000), and the SBC Awards North America at the New York Hilton Midtown. The Sports Betting Hall of Fame also honored new members Nick Bogdanovich, Michael Gaughan, Trish Lewandowski, and David L. Rebuck.
Other networking events included the Tribal Gaming Breakfast and gatherings of African Americans in Gaming and Global Gaming Women.
SBC Summit North America is scheduled to return to the Meadowlands Exposition Center May 7-9, 2024.
