South America is slated to become the next continent to host an SBC event.
The organization Thursday announced that SBC Summit Rio will be held March 5-7, 2024, at the Windsor Barra Hotel in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. SBC said in a statement that the summit is the result of discussions with industry stakeholders.
“As a Brazilian-focused operator, actively expanding our presence in the region and supporting local clubs, having a dedicated event for Brazil perfectly aligns with our company’s current focus,” said EstrelaBet Chief Business Officer Felipe Fraga in a statement. “And with SBC behind it, the event becomes even more priceless.”
SBC Summit Rio will focus on regulations, local product offerings, operator-media relationships, sports integrity, data rights, and sponsorships. The event will bring together local and international senior executives with insights into the Brazilian market.
SBC CEO and Founder Rasmus Sojmark noted that this isn’t the first event the organization has hosted in Brazil, pointing to the 2022 Brazil Football Expo in partnership with the Brazil Football Confederation. Sojmark added that SBC also launched the news platform SBC Notícias Brasil earlier in 2023.
“The Rio event has been an exceptional opportunity throughout numerous discussions we’ve had with our clients,” Sojmark said. “It will provide a robust platform for industry professionals to actively engage and exchange best practices, particularly as the regulatory landscape draws near.”
So far in 2023, SBC has already organized SBC Summit North America, the CasinoBeats Summit, and the Canadian Gaming Summit. Other events scheduled for later this year include SBC Summit Barcelona, SBC Summit Latinoamérica, and SBC Summit Tbilisi.
“We have had the pleasure of attending various SBC Events in different capacities and each experience has been exceptionally smooth,” said Sportradar EVP Global Marketing Adam Azor. “The accommodating nature of the SBC team, along with their meticulous consideration of the attendee profile, ensures strong networking opportunities are available. Given that Brazil is a growth market for betting, it’s a positive move that SBC has responded to industry demand to organize an event in Rio. We look forward to taking part in the new show.”
