Online-casino provider Rootz announced on Wednesday that they’ve signed a partnership with GeoLocs. GeoLocs will provide their geolocation service for Rootz’s flagship online casino Wildz in Ontario.

“The technology and expertise behind GeoLocs, as well as the knowledge of regulations and compliance in the region, have been key in supporting us to license and operate in the regulated Canadian market,” said Tony Kjäldström, chief product officer at Rootz. “The partnership with mkodo [the Maltese-based company that owns GeoLocs] supports Rootz with delivering an online betting experience like no other by offering our players a seamless experience that meets the compliance and regulatory demands of the territory.”

Rootz was formed in 2018, a “quality-over-quantity” igaming operation, they say on their website.

GeoLocs specializes in the North American sports betting and igaming markets. In a statement, the company said they are providing Rootz with a solution that supports the casino operator with improved compliance strategy, maximized revenue opportunities, and regulatory requirements. Users of the Rootz product will be able to verify their location quickly through the app or website.

Over the past 10 years, mkodo’s geolocation service has been utilized by clients like the British Columbia Lottery Corporation and the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
