Red Rock Resorts and Station Casinos President Richard Haskins died Saturday in a watercraft accident while vacationing in Michigan, the Las Vegas-based casino company said in a statement.
Haskins, 56, who has been with the Las Vegas locals casino giant for 25 years, was the No. 2 executive in the corporation behind Chairman and CEO Frank Fertitta III.
The company said it would announce a succession plan in the coming days.

“Words cannot express what Rich has meant to the company and to me in the 25 years he has been with Station Casinos,” Fertitta said in a statement. “He was a trusted advisor, a brilliant strategist, a steady hand in good times and in bad and most important – a friend to all.”
Added Fertitta, “It is very hard to imagine Station Casinos being the company it is today without Rich. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers are with his children, his family, and his loved ones.”
Haskins had been president of the corporation and the operating company since October 2015. He previously served as executive vice president and general counsel of Station Casinos LLC from January 2011 to October 2015.
He also served as general counsel of Fertitta Entertainment from April 2011 to May 2016.
Haskins held numerous general counsel and executive positions with the going back to 1995 when he was general counsel of Station Casinos’ operations in Missouri.
“The entire Station Casinos family mourns this loss,” the company said in a statement.
Through Station Casinos, Red Rock Resorts operates some 20 properties in Southern Nevada, including its flagship Palace Station, Red Rock Resort in Summerlin and Green Valley Ranch Resort in Henderson. The company also operates the Graton Casino in Northern California for the Graton Rancheria Tribe.
The company also owns the Palms Casino Resort near the Strip, which is one of four properties Red Rock Resorts has yet to reopen following the mid-March shut down of the Nevada casino industry due to the coronavirus pandemic.
