Parx Casino in Philadelphia led brick-and-mortar casinos with $56.4 million in revenue, a year over year decrease of 12.0%. But other casinos in the Commonwealth State saw significant increases compared to July 2021, including Valley Forge Resort Casino in King of Prussia (17.1% to $35.3 million) and Wind Creek Bethlehem (13.9% to $43.9 million, the third highest revenue in the state for the month.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National in Grantville generated the second highest revenue for the month, $55.8 million, an increase of 4.1%. Still in its first year, Hollywood Casino in Morgantown produced $6.5 million.

Slot revenue in June was $213.9 million, a decrease of 4.0% from the previous year. In fact, every casino in Pennsylvania saw a percentage decrease in slot revenue year over year except for Hollywood Casino at the Meadows in Meadowlands, which posted a 2.4% increase to $14.8 million. Parx Casino led operators with $33.6 million in slot revenue, a decrease of 12.6% from July 2021. The state brought in $98.6 million in igaming revenue in July, a year over year increase of 11.1%. But PGCB Director of Communications Doug Harbach said it’s too early to draw a causal relationship between the decrease in slot revenue and igaming revenue increase.

“I would not say that is a trend,” Harbach said via email. “Other months have shown upticks in slots while igaming is also up.”

Hollywood Casino at Penn National led igaming revenue with $38.5 million. Rivers Casino Philadelphia generated $24.7 million in igaming revenue, and Valley Forge Casino Resort brought in $17.4 million.

The total handle for sports betting in June was $336.5 million, resulting in revenue of $25.4 million. Valley Forge Casino Resort had the highest total handle in July, with $125.9 million and revenue of $12.2 million. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows’ total handle reached $76.7 million, with $4.6 million in revenue.
