The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Wednesday reported that revenue from all forms of gambling in April totaled $476.7 million. That’s a year-over-year increase of 3.27%, but a decrease from the record in March, when Pennsylvania’s gaming revenue was $515.3 million.
April marked the eighth consecutive month gaming revenue topped $420 million in Pennsylvania.
Perennial leader Hollywood Casino at Penn National in Grantsville again led all Pennsylvania casinos with $74.4 million, a 13.5% increase over April 2022. Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia posted revenue of $63.9 million, and Parx Casino in Philadelphia reported $55.2 million.
Slot revenue was down across the state, with only Mount Airy Casino, Rivers Philadelphia, Hollywood Casino York, and Hollywood Casino Morgantown posting year-over-year revenue increases. Parx Casino in Philadelphia generated $33.2 million in slot revenue, a -7.0% decrease from April 2022. Wild Creek Bethlehem (23.9 million, -4.3%) and Rivers Casino Pittsburgh ($23.5 million, -1.2%) also posted year-over-year losses.
Pennsylvania did experience a boost in igaming revenue in April, generating $137.2 million, an increase of 21.3% compared to April 2022.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National’s reported igaming revenue of $58.5 million, a year-over-year increase of 29.3%. Valley Forge Casino Resort brought in $31.2 million in igaming revenue, a 45.2% year-over-year jump, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia brought in $26.1 million, a decrease of -9.3%.
Sports betting revenue reached $37.0 million from a handle of $572.1 million, an increase of 10.0% over March 2022. Valley Forge Casino Resort had sports betting revenue of $21.3 million, with a handle of $225.6 million. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows reported sports betting revenue of $9.0 million, with a handle of $157.7, and Parx Casino generated $1.1 million based on a handle of $15.1 million.
