Pennsylvania: Gaming revenue soars to $499 million

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Tuesday reported $499.1 million in revenue from all forms of gaming, a year-over-year increase of 9.2%.

Slot revenue for February suffered a minuscule decrease of 0.04%, generating $202.7 million compared to the $202.8 million posted in February 2023. Parx Casino was responsible for $29.7 million in slot revenue, a year-over-year decline of 3.2%. Wind Creek Bethlehem generated $24.2 million, an increase of 3.7% compared to the same period in 2023, and Rivers Casino Pittsburgh’s slot revenue was $21.8 million, a decrease of 4.1%.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National in Grantsville led Pennsylvania casinos with gaming revenue of $91.9 million, a 26.7% increase compared to February 2023. Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia also saw a significant year-over-year increase of 20.7%, resulting in revenue of $74.1 million. Parx Casino in Philadelphia generated $51.4 million, a year-over-year decrease of 5.7%.

The commonwealth’s gaming revenue was boosted by increases in igaming. Slot igaming revenue was $125.8 million, a year-over-year increase of 35.6%, and igaming table revenue increased 56.7% to $56.6 million. The increases in igaming revenue offset a 30.0% decrease in sports wagering revenue compared to February 2023, to $30.2 million. Overall, Pennsylvania’s igaming revenue was $184.9 million, with Hollywood Casino at Penn National generating $77.3 million. Valley Forge Casino Resort posted igaming revenue of $44.7 million, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia brought in $29. 2 million.

Valley Forge Casino Resort again generated the highest sports betting handle in the state, $276.0 million, and revenue, $17.7 million. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows in Meadowlands followed with a handle of $177.2 million, resulting in revenue of $7.7 million. Hollywood Casino at Penn National generated sports betting revenue of $1.1 million from a handle of $52.2 million, and Rivers Casino Pittsburgh’s $1.0 million in revenue was from a handle of $23.5 million.
