The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Tuesday posted August revenue of $457.2 million from all forms of gambling. That total is a 7.5% increase compared to August 2022.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National in Grantsville again generated the most revenue in the Keystone State, reporting $75.2 million, a year-over-year increase of 23.4%. The Grantsville operator also led all Pennsylvania casinos in igaming revenue, generating $60.3 million, a year-over-year increase of 37.4%, and about 80% of its total August revenue.
Parx Casino in Philadelphia posted revenue of $56.9 million, a slight increase year-over-year of 1.2%, and Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia generated revenue of $48.8 million, an increase of 14.3% over August 2022.
Slot revenue in August reached $203.2 million, an almost imperceptible year-over-year increase of 0.95%. Parx Casino again generated the most slot revenue with $32.1 million, a decrease of -1.1% compared to August 2022. Wind Creek Bethlehem reported slot revenue of $24.4 million, a year-over-year increase of 5.4%, and Rivers Casino Pittsburgh generated $21.8 million, a 1.98% increase.
Revenue from igaming, including slots, table games and poker, was $144.9 million, a year-over-year increase of 39.0%. Following Hollywood Casino at Penn National, Valley Forge Casino Resort reported $32.4 million, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia posted $28.1 million in igaming revenue.
Revenue from sports betting was $22.0 million, with a handle of $393.0 million. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows in Meadowlands generated $7.3 million in sports betting revenue from a handle of $113.6 million. Valley Forge Casino Resort, the perennial leader in Keystone State sports betting, fell to second place, with revenue of $5.5 million and a handle of $134.7 million. Hollywood Casino Morgantown generated sports betting revenue of $1.75 million from a handle of $29.6 million.
