During its public meeting yesterday, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board approved three consent agreements presented by its Office of Enforcement Counsel, resulting in fines totaling $212,500 against casino operators.
A press release from the PGCB shows that Mountainview Thoroughbred Racing Association was fined of $147,500, including $97,500 for incidents related to insufficient protocols on Penn Interactive Ventures’ internet gaming/sports wagering platforms, which allowed fraudulent activities to occur on the site, and a $50,000 fine for three incidents at its Hollywood Casino York property. Those incidents involved patron younger than 21 gaining access to the gaming floor.
Sugarhouse HSP Gaming was fined $65,000 for two incidents at its Rivers Philadelphia Casino. The company failed to meet the minimum staffing requirements for 40 days and failed to provide timely notification of a voucher theft to the onsite Gaming Control Board staff and the Pennsylvania State Police.
Pennsylvania remains the nation’s top gambling market, with $5.86 billion in revenue.
