Pennsylvania: April gaming revenue tops $504 million, 5.9% year-over-year increase

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Friday reported $504.7 million in revenue from all forms of gambling in April, a year-over-year increase of 5.9%.

The commonwealth’s revenue was buoyed by increases in igaming slot revenue ($126.0 million, a 31.8% year-over-year increase) and igaming table revenue ($45.0 million, an increase of 15.8% compared to April 2023).

Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia led Pennsylvania casinos with gaming revenue of $85.3 million, a 33,6% increase compared to April 2023. Hollywood Casino at Penn National in Grantsville followed with revenue of $78,3 million, a year-over-year increase of 5.2%. Parx Casino in Philadelphia generated $53.8 million, a year-over-year decrease of 2.7%.

Pennsylvania slot revenue in April was $205.5 million, a decrease of 3.5%. Parx Casino led all casinos in the commonwealth with $31.6 million in slot revenue, a decrease of 4.9% compared to April 2023. Wind Creek Bethlehem generated $22.6 million, a year-over-year decrease of 5.5%. Rivers Casino Pittsburgh’s slot revenue was $21. 5 million, a year-over-year decrease of 8.5%.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National led the Keystone State in igaming revenue in April, generating $62.3 million, a 6.5% increase. Valley Forge Casino Resort posted igaming revenue of $48.1 million, a 54.0% jump, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia brought in igaming revenue of $30.6 million, a 17.3% increase.

Valley Forge Casino Resort’s reported sports betting revenue of $25.4 million from a handle of $272.3 million. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows in Meadowlands followed with a handle of $168.3 million, yielding revenue of $9.8 million. Hollywood Casino at Penn National generated sports betting revenue of $2.2 million from a handle of $41.6 million.
