CHEROKEE, N.C. (AP) – Officials at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino say a part of a ramp at the casino’s parking garage in the North Carolina mountains has collapsed.
The casino said in a statement there was only one minor injury in the Friday collapse, which happened on a ramp connecting the first floor of the garage to the second floor.
The casino says the garage will be closed for several days so engineers can make sure the garage is safe, study the problem and figure out how to fix it.
Harrah’s Cherokee Casino and one it opened last year in Murphy are run by the Cherokee tribe and are the only casinos in North Carolina.
