New York online sports betting revenue skyrockets

Winnings for New York online sports betting (OSB) operators shot up 53 percent in November on a handle just seven percent higher than in 2023. Books held at 10.2 percent, grossing $231.6 million from $2.3 billion in total wagers.

Dramatic shifts of handle were experienced by Caesars Sportsbook and BetMGM. The former’s dwindled 23 percent to $158 million, while the latter’s rose 39 percent, passing Caesars to reach $168 million.

FanDuel and DraftKings were flat and up two percent, respectively. FanDuel handled $921 million in wagers and DraftKings $745 million. As its revenue shot up 48 percent, FanDuel led the Empire State with revenue of $102.6 million. DraftKings was also considerably higher in win, 42 percent, for a final tally of $77.1 million.

BetMGM and Caesars were almost even in winnings. BetMGM grossed $14.4 million to Caesars’ $14.2 million. That was a 22 percent improvement for Caesars and 83 percent for BetMGM.

Like Caesars, BetRivers lost market share, its revenue down 14 percent to $4.3 million. Other operators in the state fared as follows: ESPN Bet $3.5 million, BallyBet $1.2 million, Resorts World Bet $600,000.
