Passionate sports fans in Philadelphia will soon have another venue to vent about their teams – and possibly learn how to make winning wagers.

Bankroll, a sports bar experience slated to open this Fall, and Betting Hero, a live activation and customer experience company, announced a strategic partnership to create a sports betting concierge program. That concierge program will feature in-house sports betting experts guiding Bankroll guests in sports betting.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Betting Hero and its team of seasoned sports betting experts to create the next generation of gaming catered to sports fans,” said  Bankroll CEO Padma Rao in a statement. “Our unique concierge service will provide customers customized content, coaching, and community unlike any other venue or platform.”

Bankroll is slated to open in the Center City neighborhood of Downtown Philadelphia. According to Play Pennsylvania, Bankroll will be approximately 18,500 square feet and be able to host 350-400 guests. The venue will feature a restaurant, multiple bars, an upper mezzanine level with private lounges, and multiple TVs. The cost of the project is estimated to be $20 million.

The project is partially driven by a study conducted by Betting Hero Research, Betting Hero’s consulting and research firm. The study indicates 47% of sports bettors want to place more bets but have a hard time navigating and finding the bets they want. Additionally, 71% of sports bettors find it important or very important to be able to watch what they bet on; Bankroll will offer dozens of screens for fans to watch games.

Bankroll will serve novice bettors who want to learn about the basics, including setting up an account on a betting app, learning about the different types of bets they can place, and how to pay for their online gambling and withdraw their winnings. Veteran bettors will be able to talk to the in-house experts about the finer points of sports betting.

Betting Hero also will help build out Bankroll’s sports betting-focused concierge team, focusing on VIP customer engagement, customer acquisition, and building relationships with gambling and sports betting companies.

“Betting has become an integral part of the sports fan experience,” said  Betting Hero President Jai Maw. “Creating a high-end betting experience at a venue like Bankroll gives guests more ways to engage with their favorite games and provides betting companies a truly differentiated way to engage customers. We’re excited to deploy Betting Hero’s sports betting expertise in partnership with Bankroll to create this unique venue experience catered toward bettors.”

Bankroll will not feature a sportsbook, but guests will be able to place bets at the venue using their preferred sports betting apps.
