The resort that brought gaming to Atlantic City in 1978, Resorts Casino Hotel, a Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment property, has developed a “Play Safe, Work Safe” plan to welcome back employees and guests when it reopens.

The plan includes a significant capital investment to improve air quality and to clean and sanitize surfaces with advanced bipolar ionization and UV technology.

“Upon reopening, we will be utilizing what research has shown to be the best sanitization and air-quality technology available today,” said Mark Giannantonio, President and CEO of Resorts.

Professional cleaning company Servpro has disinfected and sanitized the casino complex with its patented electrostatic spraying process.

UV-C sterilization technology will be used on all escalators to regularly eliminate bacteria and viruses on handrails and installed in the air handlers to kill bacteria and viruses. In addition, a bipolar ionization air-purification system will purify and disinfect the air flow to reduce the spread of airborne viruses and bacteria resulting in healthier indoor air quality.

Mobile ultraviolet-light technology, employed by the nation’s top hospitals, will clean and disinfect public and private areas, including public restrooms and hotel rooms.

Health screening and temperature checks will be mandatory for employees. In addition, team members will be thoroughly trained on industry-wide health and safety protocols upon returning to work.

Precautions for guests when they return will include mobile express check-in and checkout, four to an elevator, social distancing, and hand-sanitizer stations and hand wipes.
