The Brook Monday announced it has donated $3.7 million dollars to charities in New Hampshire during the first half of 2023. Located in Seabrook, New Hampshire, the charity casino has given nearly $12 million to organizations since 2019.
“New Hampshire’s charity-casino model is the reason why we decided to transform The Brook into the area’s premier entertainment destination,” said The Brook CEO Andre Carrier in a statement. “It’s gratifying for every single one of us to see the tangible difference these funds have made to hundreds of essential organizations that are doing important work with limited resources every day.”
The Brook uses a rotating selection process to allocate 35% of all games-of-chance revenue to charities. Recipients have included Annie’s Angels, Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Hampshire, and Make-A-Wish New Hampshire.
This year The Brook provided Rockingham Nutrition & Meals On Wheels funds for 15,000 meals earmarked for homebound seniors in need.
“There has been a steady increase in demand for meals over the last few years and the limited amount of funding we receive from the government has not kept up with that growth,” said Rockingham Nutrition Operations Director Helen Kostrzynski, “The funds we have received from The Brook have been a tremendous help to so many folks in our community and are the reason we have been able to continue delivering meals without cutting back or putting people on a waiting list.”
In 2023, The Brook has donated $92,000 to Make-A-Wish. The organization has received more than $200,000 from the casino since 2019.
“We are so grateful for The Brook’s continued support as prices continue to rise, increasing the cost of each wish we grant,” said Julie Baron, CEO of Make-A-Wish New Hampshire CEO Julie Baron. “Their leadership has enabled us to keep up with our pace of granting a wish every four days in New Hampshire.”
