Gate City Casino in Nashua on November 17 celebrated the opening of the first Aristocrat Lounge in a New Hampshire casino and the completion of a major reconfiguration of its gaming floor with hundreds of traditional video lottery terminals.

The transition, which began in September, has seen more than 300 VLTs added at Gate City Casino, with a selection of the most popular historical horse racing gaming machines still featured.

“Given the immense popularity of many of Aristocrat Gaming’s titles, we are thrilled to bring the first Aristocrat Lounge in New Hampshire to life for our guests at Gate City Casino,” Gate City Casino General Manager Andrew Gentile said in a statement. “The Aristocrat Lounge is an important part of the reconfiguration of our gaming floor with VLTs so that our guests can have more of a dynamic gaming machine experience.”

Gate City Casino is owned and operated by Delaware North.

The Aristocrat Lounge is dedicated to popular games from Aristocrat Gaming, including Cash Express Legend, Spooky Link, Buffalo Ultimate Stampede, Dragon Link, and Whisker Wheels. Aristocrat games also are available in other areas of the casino floor.

Delaware North has similar Aristocrat lounges at two West Virginia casinos – Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack and Mardi Gras Casino & Resort in Cross Lanes. The first Aristocrat lounge in country was at Wheeling Island.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Gate City Casino team to introduce the first Aristocrat Lounge in the state,” said Aristocrat Gaming Chief Revenue Officer Kurt Gissane. “This has been a truly collaborative effort, and we can’t wait to see the continued excitement of players as they can play all their favorite Aristocrat titles in one vibrant, centralized destination.”

The change to VLTs was made possible by a new New Hampshire law governing the state’s charitable gaming program and introducing a new revenue-sharing system. VLTs use random number generation to determine payouts rather than the results of historic horse races, resulting in more chance, real-time outcomes. Gaming machine manufacturers also offer more titles and brands of slot machines than are available with HHRs.

“Delaware North and Gate City Casino want to thank New Hampshire Gov. Kelly Ayotte, the legislature and the New Hampshire Lottery Commission for all they have done to enhance the state’s charitable gaming program,” Gentile said. “Combined with Delaware North’s investment in Gate City Casino, this will greatly benefit our charity partners.”
