Apparently, the organizers of two concurrent gatherings in Miami this week have been watching “Shark Tank,” although hopefully the phrase “And for that reason, I’m out” will not be uttered.

New product evaluations – although in different formats – are among the highlights when Juegos Miami and its North American older cousin, Global iGaming Summit & Expo (GiGse), take place Wednesday through Friday at the Biltmore Miami.

Juegos Miami, an invitation-only C-Level event for the Pan-Latin American and Caribbean gaming industry will be providing operators with an opportunity to showcase their solutions to Latin American and international gaming decision-makers courtesy of its newest feature, The Pitch.

The initiative consists of three 15-minute slots in each conference room and will feature leading international gaming brands, including BetConstruct, BetGenius, Dynamic Messaging, Quixant, SBTech and Skilrock.

“Based on delegate research from previous editions of Juegos Miami, we know there’s an appetite for attendees to be exposed to the latest products and innovations tailored to the region,” said Layla Ali, Juegos Miami conference producer. She notes The Pitch is strategically placed between conference sessions to ensure sponsors get maximum exposure in front of a prime audience of both Latin American and international operators.

The Pitch is Juegos Miami’s second new feature for 2018, following the Country Roundtables with key regulators from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay.

GiGse, meanwhile, will offer what promoters call “a true reflection of the growing impact technology is having across all sectors in U.S. gaming,” with its GiGse LaunchPad. Start-ups can show their products in front of investor judges and an audience of senior executives from the US land-based and interactive gaming sectors.

The 2018 GiGse LaunchPad finalists are: Bookee, a B2C mobile sports betting app, described as “Tinder for betting;”  Inside Injuries, an injury risk analysis of professional athletes enabling consumers to make better decisions for sports betting and fantasy sports; Play the Field, a B2B solution blending the locative magic and AR experience of Pokémon Go with casino rewards to engage and activate a new kind of customer at the destination; Racetrack Casino, a social casino that introduces integrated online gambling rewards for real money, and Skilup Poker, a mobile Texas Hold’em with legal cash out in the United States.

“For this year’s LaunchPad we wanted companies who are beyond the ‘concept phase’ and who demonstrated great ideas, great energy and the great dedication that’s required to transform ideas into reality,” said Ewa Bakun, who helped create the LaunchPad for the event.

Previous winners include BlueBat Games, NumberFire, and nQube.

GiGse is the more established and better known of the two events, serving the interests of the American gambling, gaming and betting industry. Juegos Miami was created at the request of stakeholders in Central, South and Latin America, as well as those in the Caribbean gaming industry.

At Juegos Miami, the dominant languages are Spanish and Portuguese, while mostly American English is spoken at GiGse.
