Granite State Gaming & Hospitality (GSGH) has closed a real-estate purchase in Littleton, New Hampshire, planning to build a casino on the site. The announcement was made pre-dawn on April 30.
A construction start on the casino is expected to happen this summer. GSGH says the casino is mostly designed, “with a focus on creating a facility that reflects the company’s commitment to innovation and community partnership.”
DMAC Architecture & Interiors, a Chicago-based firm, is handling the design. According to a GSGH statement, “The team is shaping a design that pays homage to the region’s landscape and history, blending contemporary elements with local character to create a dynamic and welcoming guest experience.”
GSGH already operates two charitable casinos in New Hampshire, the Beach Club Casino in Hampton Beach and Rochester’s Lilac Club Casino. The company says its revenue-sharing with local nonprofits has “generated more than $4 million in contributions to veterans’ groups, youth organizations, and community-service nonprofits across the state.”
The casino will be sited on Littleton’s Kilburn Ledge. No details are as yet available as to planned size and gambling inventory, or the construction budget.
“This acquisition is a vital step in building a sustainable, community-focused, gaming model for northern New Hampshire,” said Eric Barbaro, GSGH’s chief operating officer. “We remain committed to responsible growth that delivers a meaningful, long-term, charitable impact.”
