Bolstered by an all-time revenue record in December of $1.46 billion, Nevada casinos broke their record for full-year gaming revenue, winning $15.61 billion in 2024. That amounted to a 0.6% annual increase from $15.52 billion in 2023, and a 4.6% increase over 2022, the Nevada Gaming Control Board reported Thursday.

The year 2024 set the new record despite the Strip reporting a 1% decline in gaming revenue to $8.8 billion, down from $8.9 billion in 2023. The strength was with Las Vegas locals casinos, with the balance of Clark County category showing a 10.6% increase from $1.7 billion to $1.9 billion in 2024.

Downtown Las Vegas also showed strength with a 2.4% increase from $909.7 million to $931.2 million. Washoe County in northern Nevada reported a 1.4% increase from $1.03 billion to $1.05 billion.

In 2024, the Boulder Strip fell 0.6% to $959.6 million, while North Las Vegas fell 1.6% to $284.9 million. Laughlin fell 5.7% to $482 million, down from $511 million. Mesquite declined 3% to $180 million, down from $183 million.

“The state was up for the month and the calendar year despite the decreases on the Strip,” according to Michael Lawton, an analyst with the Nevada Gaming Control Board. “The Strip was down low single digits in December and the calendar year. Other markets, specifically the balance of Clark County, offset the Strip’s declines for the calendar year. December benefitted from slot collections that rolled over from the last weekend of November into December, which helped offset the Strip’s decline in December.”

Slot win generated 67.4% of the state’s total gaming win in 2024. Slot win increased 2.3% after increasing 2.7% in 2023. Total coin-in increased 1.6% statewide in 2024, after increasing 2.8% last year.
