A Nevada federal judge on Friday denied a Las Vegas casino’s bid to pause an order requiring it to bargain with unions after it issued a generous benefits package before a union election, saying the company didn’t show it was likely to overturn the injunction on appeal.
U.S. District Judge Gloria Navarro said NP Red Rock LLC had not shown it would be able to convince the Ninth Circuit that the injunction violated its First Amendment or due process rights or that the order to bargain would irreparably harm the casino. Red Rock, which operates Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa in Las Vegas, had argued in part that Judge Navarro deprived it of due process by not holding an evidentiary hearing before issuing the injunction.
