Nebraska’s five casinos generated $23.6 million in revenue last month, rising from the previous year’s figure of $16 million due primarily to casino openings and expansions.
The figures, published by the Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission, show that of the five casinos, WarHorse Casino Omaha generated the highest revenue for the month, reporting $8.9 million. This figure was up 28.9% year-over-year, rising from $6.9 million.
Other double-digit increases came from WarHorse Casino Lincoln and a triple-digit increase from Grand Island Casino.
WarHorse Casino Lincoln reported the second-highest revenue in the state, increasing from $4.5 million to $7 million, a year-over-year increase of 53.2% spurred on by the addition of table games to its facility. Grand Island Casino had the greatest year-over-year revenue increase in August, rising from $2.5 million to $5 million, an increase of 102.2%.
Harrah’s Columbus had the smallest year-over-year revenue increase, up 7.9% from $2.1 million to $2.2 million. The lowest revenue came from Nebraska’s latest permanent casino, Lake Mac, which opened its doors to guests on August 19. In only two weeks of operation, the casino generated $527,419 in revenue.
Of the total combined revenue, slots generated $19.9 million, up 36.9% year-over-year from $14.5 million. Table games rose from $1.1 million to $2.1 million, an increase of 84%, while electronic table games grew 397.8% year-over-year. Retail sports betting was also up from $175,009 to $876,969.
