Nebraska’s commercial casinos recorded revenue of $24.2 million in May, a rise of 149.3% from the more than $9.7 million generated in May, fueled by expanded gaming at the state’s casinos.
Warhorse Casino Omaha generated $9.1 million in revenue this May. In May 2024, the casino only provided retail sports betting so it showed a 9,156% rise in revenue year-on-year.
Warhorse Gaming Lincoln, which expanded in November, recorded $7.3 million in May revenue, up 52.3% from May 2024. Grand Island Casino and Resort, which opened its new resort in April, generated $5.6 million, up 85.2%, and Harrah’s Columbus generated $2.3 million, up 25.2%.
The Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission reported that slots contributed the most to the monthly total, at $20.5 million, representing 84.7% of the combined revenue figure, while table games contributed $2.2 million.
The four casinos contributed $4.8 million to state funds through Nebraska’s 20% tax on gross gaming revenue.
The Nebraska casino industry is showing significant growth as progress on the construction of a new horse racing and casino resort continues in the state, with Lake Mac Casino, Resort and Race Track scheduled to open within a few weeks.
