Four inducted into Mississippi Gaming Hall of Fame

The Mississippi Gaming Hall of Fame recently announced its new inductees. They are:

  • Industry Pioneer: Tim Hinkley, former general manager of the Isle of Capri Casino, the first casino to open in Mississippi in 1992.
  • Industry Influencer: Jon Lucas, general manager of IP Casino Resort Spa in Biloxi from 2005 to 2011, where he led recovery efforts at the casino in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
  • Industry Regulatory/Government Official: The late William Gresham Jr.,  first chairman and one of the three original members of the Mississippi Gaming Commission from 1993 through 2001.
  • Industry Regulatory/Government Official: Thomas Gresham, a commissioner of the Mississippi Gaming Commission who served from 2015 through 2023, and the son of William Gresham.

“Our honorees have made important, meaningful contributions to the industry,” said Mississippi Gaming and Hospitality Association Executive Director Larry Gregory in a statement. “The Hall of Fame boasts leaders from Mississippi and elsewhere who exemplify personal and professional qualities. Their legacy is Mississippi’s success.”

The inductees will be honored at the sixth annual Hall of Fame Dinner Gala. Sponsored by the Mississippi Gaming and Hospitality Association, the event is scheduled for June 27 at the MGM Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi.
