State investigators executed a search warrant at Games 4 U, 2984 Treat Hwy., Unit C, Adrian, on June 4, following a joint investigation by the Michigan Department of Attorney General and the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB). Assisted by the Madison Township Police Department, authorities confiscated 42 slot-style machines, 10 computer-based gambling machines, $8,715 in cash, and 20 gift cards related to illegal gaming activity from the location.

“The Michigan Gaming Control Board remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring compliance with all state gambling regulations,” MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams said. “We will continue to work diligently to identify and eliminate any illegal gambling activities that pose a threat to the integrity of the industry and the welfare of the public.”

The MGCB recognizes that all individuals identified in connection with this investigation are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The agency is committed to respecting the rights of all parties involved and will allow the judicial process and the principles of due process to proceed without prejudging the outcome of any legal proceedings.

The Michigan Penal Code broadly prohibits any kind of gambling except for what is authorized by law, with potential consequences for Michigan businesses operating gaming machines illegally including criminal charges and/or monetary fines. The MGCB publishes fact sheets about legal vs. illegal gaming on its website.
