The purchase of Macau Casino in Lakewood, Macau Casino in Tukwilla, Caribbean Casino in Kirkland, Caribbean Cardroom in Kirkland, and Caribbean Casino in Yakima, gives the company 19 total card room casinos with nearly 290 table games statewide.

Maverick Gaming CEO Eric Persson said in a statement the company is looking to construct new projects in Everett, Seattle, Tacoma and the state’s Tri Cities area in conjunction with the card rooms. He said the projects are likely to include hotel rooms, a nationally known sports bar, and 50,000 square feet of convention space.

“With our growing footprint, we are very excited to be making this substantial investment in Washington and adding these properties to our portfolio,” Persson said. “Our expansion plans will create even more employment opportunities to Washingtonians.”

Maverick Gaming Washington President Tim Merrill said the company in on track to employ some 3,000 state residents as it expands the 19 card room casinos.

“We see our cardroom investment and our future expansion plans as a natural benefit for legal and regulated sports wagering in Washington,” Persson said.

On Monday, Maverick, which operates four casinos in rural Nevada, announced plans to acquire three casinos in Colorado. The privately-held company has been one of the most active casino operators in the acquisition market this year, completing several transactions for card room casinos in Washington, primarily in the Seattle market.

Persson and Justin Beltram founded Maverick Gaming in 2017.

The company owns the Wendover Nugget and Red Garter hotels in Wendover, Nevada, and the Red Lion Casino, Gold Country Casino, and High Desert Inn, all located in Elko, Nevada. The Nevada properties total 1,200 hotel rooms and 1,500 slot machines.
