BOSTON (AP) – Massachusetts’ casinos are reporting increased revenues.

The state Gaming Commission reported Tuesday that MGM Springfield generated $21.6 million in gambling revenues in December, a modest uptick from November’s $21.2 million. Casino president Michael Mathis attributed the improved numbers for the casino near Connecticut to the holiday season.

Plainridge Park, a slot parlor near Rhode Island, generated $14 million in December, up from November’s $12.8 million.

Later Tuesday, Gov. Charlie Baker will announce the commission’s new chair. Stephen Crosby resigned in September over concerns of bias in the commission’s inquiry into Wynn Resorts – charges he denied.

Massachusetts is investigating how the Las Vegas company handled allegations of sexual misconduct aga inst company founder Steve Wynn. The outcome could impact the company’s gambling license. Wynn plans to open Encore Boston Harbor this summer.
