Brooker also serves on the boards of companies, including Findmypast, Future, Heathrow Airport, and Paysafe. He succeeds Matthew Peacock, who has served on the board since 2021 when Hanover Investors acquired the United Kingdom-based company.

Peacock is the founder and chairman of Hanover Investors.

“Mark’s experience leading and developing organizations across numerous international markets, as well as his extensive background within the gambling sector make him uniquely positioned to provide guidance on the future development of our organization,” said eCOGRA CEO Shaun McCallaghan in a statement. “I look forward to working closely with him as we continue our expansion into new jurisdictions.”

Brooker also has served as the chief operating officer for Betfair Group (now part of Flutter Entertainment) and as a senior independent director at William Hill.

“I am delighted to be offered the opportunity to chair such an internationally renowned business with an impressive lineage in player protection, responsible gaming and regulatory certification activities,” Brooker said. “I look forward to work closely with eCOGRA to enhance its commercial capacities as it continues to expand into new markets across the globe.”

Brooker’s appointment comes after eCOGRA was authorized to offer certification services in Michigan as an independent testing laboratory in early January. The company also was approved for certification services in Pennsylvania in 2022 and holds minor vendor licenses in Colorado and New Jersey.
