Maine’s two commercial casinos, Hollywood Casino and Oxford Casino, generated a combined net revenue of $15 million in May, a year-over-year increase of 10.4% compared to last year’s $13.6 million.
The figures, published by the Maine Gambling Control Unit, showed significant net revenue increases across the board, with both casinos experiencing a rise in revenue. Hollywood Casino rose from $5.1 million to $5.8 million, a 14.9% year-over-year increase, while Oxford Casino was up 7.7% year-over-year, with revenue growing from $8.5 million to $9.2 million.
Revenue for both casinos also was up significantly month-over-month. Total combined revenue for April 2025 was $13.8 million, which, compared to May’s figures, represented an 8.3% month-over-month increase, with Hollywood Casino improving its return by 10.3% and Oxford Casino showing a rise of 7.2%.
For both casinos, slot revenue represented around 85% of the total figure for May. Oxford Casino recorded net slots revenue of $7.8 million and $1.3 million from table games. Hollywood Casino generated $4.9 million from slot gaming and $914,078 from table games.
In recent news, the Maine House of Representatives passed a proposal expanding tribal control of online gambling to include online casino gaming. LD1164 passed the House with an 85-59 vote, with the bill now needing approval from the Senate.
