The Cordish Companies, owner of the new Live! Casino & Hotel in Bossier City, is looking for local artists and offering them the chance to have their work displayed inside the venue, according to local news reports.
The company has partnered with the Shreveport and Bossier Arts Council to issue an open artist call, requesting work that captures the spirit of Live! Casino’s gaming, entertainment, dining and nightlife experience.
“This region has an impressive roster of talented artists, and we are excited to see how they convey the culture of the state and personify the essence of Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana through their craft,” John Chaszar, executive vice president and general manager of Live!, told the Shreveport Times.
The deadline for submitting concepts online or at the Bossier Arts Council is 4 p.m. on September 13. Twelve artists will be selected to create a finalized version of their piece, which will be showcased in the Event Center, a multi-purpose venue for entertainment, conventions and more.
Construction of the nearly $300 million casino began last December on the site of the former Diamond Jacks Casino & Hotel in Bossier City. Last month, the venue marked a construction milestone with a topping-off ceremony. It is scheduled to open in early 2025, featuring more than 47,000 square feet of gaming space, a sportsbook and a 550-room hotel.
