Louisiana: June gaming revenue rises slightly compared to 2023

The Louisiana Gaming Control Board reported Thursday that gaming revenue in the state was $197.4 million in June, a slight year-over-year increase of 0.8 percent but below the $203.7 million generated in May 2024. Only the Baton Rouge district posted a significant increase in revenue, posting $24.0 million for an 11.8% year-over-year gain.

Louisiana online sports betting revenue was $25.8 million, an increase of 107.0% compared to June 2024, from a $195.0 million handle,  million, a year-over-year increase of 34.0%.

Lake Charles again led all Louisiana districts with June gaming revenue of $77.0 million, a year-over-year decrease of 3.2%. Golden Nugget Lake Charles reported revenue of $28.4 million, followed by L’Auberge Casino Resort Lake Charles, with $26.8 million. Delta Downs Racetrack Casino Hotel posted revenue of $14.3 million, and Horseshoe Lake Charles generated $7.6 million.

Shreveport/Bossier district properties brought in $44.9 million, a 1.7% decrease compared to June 2023. Margaritaville Resort Casino generated $16.4 million, Bally’s Shreveport Casino & Hotel reported $9.7 million, and Horseshoe Bossier City posted $6. 6 million.

The New Orleans district reported revenue of $45.2 million, a 4.5% increase from the previous year. Harrah’s New Orleans generated revenue of $15.2 million, Treasure Chest Casino reported $13.3 million, and Boomtown Casino & Hotel brought in $10.1 million.

The Baton Rouge district’s year-over-year increase of 11.8% generated revenue of $24.0 million. L’Auberge Casino Hotel led the district with $15.6 million, the Queen of Baton Rouge generated $7.8 million, and the Belle of Baton Rouge reported revenue of $0.6 million.

Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino in St. Landry Parish generated revenue of $6.3 million, an increase of 0.8% year over year.
