Louisiana gaming revenue rises 10.5% year-over-year in January

The Louisiana Gaming Control Board on Monday reported revenue of $180.2 million from all forms of gaming in January, a year-over-year increase of 10.5%.

Revenue increased in all five of the state’s gaming districts.

Gaming revenue from online sports betting increased 9%, generating $51.1 from a handle of $355 million, a 12% bump.

Properties in the Lake Charles district led Louisiana with gaming revenue of $66.8 million, an 11.4% increase year-over-year. Golden Nugget Lake Charles brought in $24.3 million in revenue, an increase of 6.4% compared to January 2024. L’Auberge Casino Resort posted revenue of $23.2 million, a year-over-year increase of 13.4%, and Delta Downs Racetrack Casino Hotel generated $11.6 million, up 4.2% year-over-year.

New Orleans properties generated $44.7 million from the $40.2 million brought in during January 2024, a 11.3% increase.  Caesars New Orleans revenue was $18.2 million, a decrease of 2.7% from January 2024’s $18.7 million. Treasure Chest generated $11.9 million, an 86.4% increase, and Boomtown Casino & Hotel reached revenue of $9.1 million, a 4% drop compared to the same time period the previous year.

Shreveport/Bossier City properties generated revenue of $41.6 million compared to January 2024’s $37.1 million, an 11.8% rise. Margaritaville Resort Casino posted revenue of $14.0 million, a year-over-year increase of 9.2%. Horseshoe Bossier City generated $9.9 million, an increase of 9.1% compared to January 2024. Bally’s Shreveport Casino & Hotel posted revenue of $8.8 million, a year-over-year increase of 34%.

The Baton Rouge district’s $21.5 million was an increase of 5.8% year-over-year. L’Auberge Casino Hotel led the district with $13.3 million, dropping 2.1% compared to January 2024. The Queen of Baton Rouge generated $7.7 million over the $6.1 million accrued in January 2024, a 25.8% increase. The Belle of Baton Rouge reported revenue of $0.5 million, a decrease of 19%.

Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino in St. Landry Parish generated revenue of $5.7 million, a year-over-year increase of 3.6%.
