Louisiana casino revenue reaches $214.8 in August, up 11.5% year-over-year

The Louisiana Gaming Control Board reported revenue of $214.8 million from the state’s casinos in August, up 11.5% from the $192.7 million posted in August 2024.

Perennial leader Lake Charles topped all districts in Louisiana with revenue of $80.3 million, a year-over-year increase of 12.5% from $71.3 million. L’Auberge Du Lac generated $30.0 million compared to $26 million in August 2024, a 15.7% increase. Golden Nugget Lake Charles collected revenue of $27.1 million, up 5.6% compared to August 2024’s $25.6 million. Delta Downs posted revenue of $15.5 million compared to $14 million in the same month in 2024, an 11.1% increase.

Shreveport/Bossier City properties reported revenue of $51.6 million compared to August 2024’s $48.9 million, a 5.7% increase. Margaritaville Resort Casino posted revenue of $12.6 million, a year-over-year decrease of 13.3% from the $14.5 million generated in August 2024. Horseshoe Shreveport reported revenue of $11.7 million from the previous year’s $15.6 million, down 25.1%. Live! Casino posted $10.7 million after not being open in 2024.

New Orleans district properties reported revenue of $53.7 million, up from August 2024 $45.7 million, or 17.6%. Caesars New Orleans brought in $25.8 million, an increase of 36.6% year-over-year, compared to August 2024’s $18.8 million, almost half of the district’s revenue. Treasure Chest generated $14 million, an increase of 12.9% ($12.4 million in August 2024) and Boomtown Casino & Hotel reported revenue of $8.1 million, a 4.2% decrease compared to the $8.5 million reported in August 2024.

The Baton Rouge district’s $22.6 million was an increase of 9.5% compared to August 2024’s $20.6 million. L’Auberge Casino Hotel posted $13.5 million, a year-over-year increase of 2.5% from August 2024 $13.2 million. The Queen of Baton Rouge generated $8.3 million, an increase of 22.1% from August 2024’s $6.8 million, and the Belle of Baton Rouge reported revenue of $0.7 million, a year-over-year increase of 21.6%, or $0.6 million.

Evangeline Downs generated $6.6 million, a 6.7% increase year-over-year from $6.2 million.
