The Louisiana Gaming Control Board Monday reported that April gaming revenue reached $184.3 million, a year-over-year decrease of 8.0%. Every Louisiana gaming district except Baton Rouge suffered a decline in revenue compared to April 2023.
Louisiana generated online sports revenue of $39.0 million, a year-over-year increase of 81.0% from a handle of $263.0 million. The handle for retail sports betting was $19.8 million, yielding revenue of $1.3 million.
Lake Charles properties led all Louisiana districts with gaming revenue of $68.7 million, a year-over-year decrease of 10.5%. Golden Nugget Lake Charles reported revenue of $24.6 million, followed by L’Auberge Casino Resort Lake Charles, which generated $23.7 million. Delta Downs Racetrack Casino Hotel posted revenue of $13.7 million, and Horseshoe Lake Charles was responsible for $6.7 million.
Shreveport/Bossier district properties generated revenue of $43.8 million, a 12.9% decrease compared to April 2023. Margaritaville Resort Casino posted revenue of $15.3 million, Horseshoe Bossier City generated $8.7 million, and Bally’s Shreveport Casino & Hotel reported $8.5 million.
New Orleans district operators generated revenue of $42.6 million, a decrease of 6.4% compared to April 2023. Harrah’s New Orleans reported revenue of $19.3 million, followed by Boomtown Casino & Hotel with $10.2 million, and Treasure Chest Casino with $7.2 million.
The Baton Rouge district’s year-over-year increase of 5.5% resulted in revenue of $23.1 million. L’Auberge Casino Hotel led the district with $14.6 million, the Queen of Baton Rouge generated $7.9 million, and the Belle of Baton Rouge reported revenue of $0.6 million.
Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino in St. Landry Parish generated $6.3 million in revenue, a year-over-year decrease of 8.2%.
