TRENTON, N.J. (AP) – State lawmakers are set to examine New Jersey’s contract with a private company overseeing part of the state’s lottery.
An oversight committee is holding a hearing Tuesday on the lottery’s performance as well as the state’s contract with Northstar, the vendor hired to oversee sales and marketing.
Since the contract was signed Christie has become a Republican candidate for president.
The lottery has missed revenue projections in recent years.
Officials attribute the missed marks to a national trend in lower lottery sales.
The hearing also is expected to touch on how the state oversees and monitors major private vendor contracts.
Christie entered a 15-year contract with lottery marketing and sales company Northstar New Jersey Lottery Group in 2013 to oversee parts of the state lottery.
