Downtown Las Vegas’ Circa Resort & Casino, the D Las Vegas and Golden Gate Hotel & Casino are seeing a surge in Canadian visitation after launching a program that treats the Canadian dollar at par with the U.S. dollars. The resorts’ “At Par” program, according to a news release, has drawn more than 15,000 visitors in its first month and generated more than 2,700 hotel room bookings.
The Derek Stevens-owned resorts’ commitment will continue through Aug. 31 and applies to select gaming, hotel, beverage and entertainment offerings.
“The reason why we did is we’re missing our Canadian friends and tourists in Las Vegas,” Stevens said in a statement on X. “Number one, I wanted to welcome Canadians back to Las Vegas. Make sure you know you got some friends out here in the desert. And number two, we wanted to give them a great offer.”
Stevens added that the offer extends to his three properties, including the Circa, the D and Golden Gate, and the Downtown Las Vegas Event Center. At Par also includes beverage and gaming offers.
The At Par program also offers Canadian travelers and locals the opportunity to buy tickets At Par for an April performance by Canadian DJ and producer Excision at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center April 24-25. The band Finger Eleven also will perform on Fremont Street Experience as part of its free Downtown Rocks Summer Concert Series on June 27.
“At Par has created real momentum with our Canadian guests right out of the gate, and that means a lot to me personally given my lifelong connection to Canada,” said Stevens. “Bringing a Canadian artist like Excision to Downtown Las Vegas Events Center builds on that momentum, pairing real value with major entertainment and giving Canadian guests even more reasons to plan a trip downtown.”
Under the At Par program, eligible Canadian guests receive $1 USD in value for every $1 CAD spent, regardless of daily exchange rates. The effort removes one of the biggest financial barriers to U.S. leisure travel and makes it easier for Canadian visitors to focus on entertainment, hospitality and fun, the news release said.
At Par offers include:
- Canadian guests may redeem up to $500 CAD in slot promotional play, treated at full U.S. dollar value, by visiting Club One at Circa, the D or Golden Gate, and presenting a valid Canadian passport or government-issued ID. Slot play is available on participating machines at each property with standard exclusions.
- Canadian guests staying at Circa, the D or Golden Gate will receive the At Par rate at check-in, paying the same amount shown in U.S. dollars, charged directly in Canadian dollars, with no exchange rate applied. Canadian citizenship must be verified with a valid passport or government-issued ID.
- The At Par program also extends to select beverage venues, including BarCanada at the D Las Vegas, a hockey-forward sports bar paying tribute to Canada, and the Overhang at Circa and Bar Prohibition! at Golden Gate. Eligible Canadian guests may redeem At Par beverage pricing multiple times per visit upon verification of Canadian identification.
“The reason why (for running the program) is the turnout has been terrific,” Stevens said. “15,000 people have come through our properties in the first 30 days, and we’ve booked 2,700 hotel room nights. I’m very glad that a number of Canadians are excited about this offer and just wanted to remind everybody, we welcome you back to Las Vegas.”
