Palms Casino Resort on Wednesday announced the opening of a new, fully enclosed non-smoking gaming area, adding 7,300 square feet of casino space and 224 of new slot games to the resort’s gaming offerings.

Near the William Hill Sportsbook, the gaming area will open to the public on August 24, followed by a grand opening celebration and Spin It Forward IGT Celebrity Charity Slot Challenge Sat 4 p.m. on September 1.

“Guest feedback drives so much of what we do, and expanding our non-smoking gaming options is something we’ve heard consistently,” Palms Casino Resort General Manager Kevin Glass said in a statement. “This new space combines over 200 of the latest games, a dedicated bar, and a new gaming experience to create an entirely new way to play at Palms. And since Palms was recently recognized as one of the luckiest casinos in the country, we thought we’d make a little more room for the winning to continue.”

Unlike a designated non-smoking section within the existing casino floor, the new space offers guests a distinct, enclosed gaming environment with its own full-service bar. The 224-game lineup represents nearly a dozen gaming manufacturers, offering guests a broad mix of the latest titles and gaming experiences.

The inaugural Spin It Forward Celebrity Charity Slot Challenge, presented by IGT, will include invited local personalities to play on behalf of 10 Southern Nevada organizations, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Participating charities include:

  • Heaven Can Wait Animal Society
  • UNLV Chapter of Advancing Indigenous Science & Engineering Society
  • Proud to Rescue Benevolent Fund
  • Southern Nevada Joint Management Culinary & Training Fund S.A.F.E. House
  • PBS Southern Nevada
  • The Ability Center
  • Make-A-Wish Southern Nevada
  • Springs Preserve Foundation
  • Teach For America Nevada

Each charity will receive a $2,500 donation from the San Manuel Gaming and Hospitality Authority. In addition, each charity will receive $1,000 in slot play provided by IGT. Participating charities may choose to accept the guaranteed $1,000 donation or partner with a celebrity participant, who will play on the organization’s behalf in hopes of increasing the contribution.

The celebration continues through September for Club Serrano members, beginning with hot seats September 1–3 and Thursday night drawings September 10 and 17, offering opportunities to receive free slot play and additional prizes.

The new space also will introduce a bar program distinct from other venues throughout the resort. Guests can choose from a rotating selection of draft beers from local breweries, including styles not available at other Palms bars, alongside specialty cocktails created specifically for the space. The cocktail menu will include a nitro tequila-forward take on the coffee cocktail carajillo, and a rotating bartender’s choice selection of three premium bourbon and scotch flights for $10.
