Konami Gaming on Tuesday announced its ISO 27001 certification for its information security management system supporting Konami’s SYNKROS casino management system and Konami Online Interactive iGaming offering.
The certification was performed by Schellman & Company, an ANSI National Accreditation Board and United Kingdom Accreditation Service, an accredited certification body in the United States.
ISO 27001 is a globally recognized standard for the establishment and certification of an information security management system. The standard specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining, and improving a documented information security management system within the context of the organization’s overall business risks. It sets forth a risk-based approach that focuses on adequate and proportionate security controls that protect information assets and give confidence to interested parties.
“Compliance before commerce has been Konami’s long-held standard across the organization, and our work to clearly structure our ISMS and achieve ISO 27001 certification demonstrates a continued commitment toward this approach to our customers, partners, and employees,” Brian Alu, Konami Gaming Vice President of Information Technology, said in a statement.
With 27001 Certification, Konami’s casino customers get data that is protected by a rigorous system of processes and controls. To achieve certification, Konami underwent a comprehensive audit to verify compliance with internationally recognized standards.

The certification process required planning, strategy, research, documentation, and collaboration across numerous internal Konami teams, including human resources, systems, marketing, technical compliance, security, IT, and igaming.
