The Class 2 Gathering’s initial charity golf tournament at Firekeeper Golf Course in Mayette, Kansas, recently raised $123,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation.

The golf course is at the Prairie Band Casino & Resort.

The donation will support programs of the Boys & Girls Club including services to assist in the “development and enhancement of the spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical well-being of all young people in the surrounding area,” according to a news release, by providing a safe, positive place to learn and grow.

“The success of this year’s charity golf tournament reflects the incredible generosity and community spirit of everyone involved,” said Boys & Girls Club Board Member John Sexsmith. “From our sponsors and volunteers to each golfer who joined us on the greens, their support helped drive meaningful impact far beyond the course.”

Golfers heard cultural performances by Little Soldiers and the Royal Valley Native American Singers and Dancers.

The tournament was held the day before the official start of C2G’s conference sessions and expo June 2.

The charity golf tournament will return to Firekeeper Golf Course, June 1, 2026.
