Iowa casinos generated $144.9 million in revenue in July, up 0.1% from the $144.7 million generated the year prior.
The latest figures, published by the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission, reported that 13 of the state’s 19 casinos saw revenue increases year-over-year.
Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino generated the highest revenue, earning $20.3 million, up 1.6% from the year prior. Isle Casino Hotel Waterloo recorded the highest revenue increase, with a 16.8% rise year-over-year, from $7.8 million in 2024 to just more than $9 million in 2025.
Two of the Wild Rose Casinos in Clinton, Emmetsburg, and Jefferson saw increased revenue year-over-year, with the most significant increase coming from the Emmetsburg location, which saw revenues rise 15.6% from $2.4 million to $2.8 million.
The biggest loser was Horseshoe Casino Council Bluffs, with a 16.7% decrease year-over-year, with revenue decreasing from $16.5 million to $13.8 million. Ameristar II also saw a double-figure decrease of 12.1%, with revenue of $13.7 million, falling from the $15.5 million generated the year prior.
Riverboat casino Queen Marquette, which is being rebranded and brought to shore by Bally’s, brought in the least revenue to the state, a loss of 7.1% year-over-year from $1.8 million to $1.7 million.
Slots yielded $131.9 million, up 1.4% year-over-year from $130 million. Table games generated $13 million in revenue, declining from $14.6 million, a year-over-year decrease of 11.3%.
