Iowa’s casinos generated $132.7 million in adjusted gross revenue in January, up 14 percent from $116.4 million in January 2024.
Casino players in the Hawkeye State generated $13.5 million in table game revenue according to the report from the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission. That’s a 9.8 percent increase from the previous year’s $12.3 million. Slot game revenue rose from $104 million to $119.1 million in January, a 14.5 percent increase year over year.
Prairie Meadows Racetrack & Casino generated the highest amount of adjusted gross revenue – $18.4 million – up from $15.9 million last year.
Horseshoe Casino Council Bluffs generated $13.7 million up from $12.7 million, Ameristar Council Bluffs Casino produced more than $13.3 million, up from $12.8 million, and Riverside Casino and Golf Resort generated $10.3 million, up from $8.1 million.
In recent news, the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission approved the development of the new Cedar Rapids Casino, which is set to open on New Year’s Eve, increasing the number of casinos in the Hawkeye State to 20.
