Iowa casinos reported $151.2 million in revenue last month, up 4.9% from the previous year’s $151.2 million.
The figures, published by the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission, showed that of the state’s 19 casinos, only five reported revenue declines. Prairie Meadows was Iowa’s biggest revenue generator, reporting $21.1 million, up 6.2% year-over-year from $19.8 million.
Other double-digit revenue generators included Horseshoe Council Bluffs ($15.3 million), down 1% year-over-year, Ameristar II ($14.1 million), down 4.4%, Riverside Casino ($11.1 million), down 1.7%, Diamond Jo Worth ($10.5 million), up 10.1%, and Rhythm City ($10.3 million), also up 5.5% year-over-year.
The biggest revenue increase came from Isle Casino Waterloo, which increased 31.9% from $7.1 million to $9.4 million, while Wild Rose Jefferson had the greatest revenue decline last month, dropping 4.9% from $3.1 million to $2.9 million.
Slot revenue in August totaled $136.7 million, up 4.1% from $131.2 million. Table games revenue also increased, from $13 million to $14.5 million, a 12.1% rise year-over-year.
