Indiana online sportsbooks reported $500.7 million in handle for March, marking the fourth time in four years that wagers have topped $500 million, according to figures from the Indiana Gaming Commission.
The online figures are a 15 percent increase compared to March 2023, when the state reported a $433 million handle. However, Indiana’s online sports betting operators reported $39.4 million in adjusted gross revenue, down from the $42.8 million posted in March 2023.
DraftKings, in partnership with Ameristar Casino in East Chicago, reported the highest handle – $186.5 million. Blue Chip Casino and FanDuel came in second with $136.5 million, while Belterra Casino and BetMGM were third, reporting a handle of $43.4 million.
Last month, Fanatics Sportsbook became the latest operator to launch in the Hoosier State in partnership with Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg. Fanatics reported a $12.5 million handle in March, the seventh-highest result in the state.
Retail sportsbooks brought in a $15.3 million handle, generating $1.7 million in revenue. Indiana also reported $213.6 million in total adjusted gaming revenues for March, including revenue from poker, slots and table games at its land-based casino venues, down 5.6 percent from March 2023.
Indiana collected almost $76.2 million in overall taxes in March.
