The inaugural All American Sports Betting Summit concluded Wednesday at Monmouth Park, New Jersey, capping off a two-day examination of the current state of sports betting in the U.S and potential avenues of future growth and development.

Developed and staged by international event producer Eventus International, the Summit attracted operators and industry stakeholders from both the U.S. and across the globe. A series of expert panels provided insight across all spectrums of the American sports betting industry, and the structure of the conference offered broad networking opportunities.

Major operators such as theScore, Don Best Sports, Gambling.com, Chalkline Sports, Bet.Works, SugarHouse HSP Gaming L.P. and Goodbookey were on hand, along with state regulators, gaming commissions, tech companies and other gaming sector professionals to provide clarity on current sports betting legislation and strategies.

The event kicked off with opening remarks by Eventus strategic advisor and event chair Bill Pascrell III and a keynote address by attorney Dennis Drazen of Drazin Warshaw PC, who provided context on the state of U.S. sports betting, outlined the events that led to legalization, and reviewed the current state of the industry in America. New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy and New Jersey State Representative Frank Pallone also offered presentations on the topic.

Further presentations and panel discussions covered subjects ranging from creating sports betting legislation and regulatory environments in individual U.S. states to measures that would provide for a sustainable U.S. sports betting sector. Types of emergent technology and advice on entering the sports betting market were also examined, and industry players were advised on state-by-state gaming regulation in 2019.

The day culminated with the first American Gambling Awards ceremony, organized by Gambling.com.

Day two was once again opened with an address by event chair Pascrell. Dustin Gouker, Head of Content U.S. for Catena Media, spoke about opportunities for media companies in the sports betting sector, and Gambling.com Group CEO Charles Gillespie moderated a panel discussion on player acquisition and retention strategies.

The day’s keynote panel, moderated by Pascrell, looked at the views that sports leagues, government officials, and broadcasters have toward sports betting. The panel included former New Jersey State Senator Raymond Lesniak, New Jersey Department of Gaming Enforcement Deputy Director Louis Rogacki, Don Best Sports President Benjie Cherniak, USA Today sportswriter Steve Edelson, and New Jersey Advance Media staff reporter Keith Seargeant.

“The success of AASBS 2019 marks the long-planned expansion of Eventus International’s reach into American territory,” Eventus International said in a statement.  “With luck, it has laid the foundation for many future events of its kind.”
